Thinking about grabbing one of these from amazon. What is the voltage rating on the power adapter? Is it a universal 100V - 240V?

Yes, forgot to mention Thunderbolt.

Hmm. Are any of these ports USB 3? Will have to check.

Picked my order up from PBTech yesterday.
3217IYE model - Gb ethernet.

Took all of 10 mins to install the RAM and mSata (jee those cards are small)

Solid, robust feeling piece of kit. Quite cold to touch. The motherboard is an intricate piece of PC engineering.

8Gb RAM
60Gb intel SSD.

Window 7 installed in about 15 mins.
Boots like lighting!

Really pleased with the device and can't wait to play with it a bit more

Installed Windows 7 on a 160GB Intel SSD. But.. Make sure you go to the Intel website and download ALL drivers for your NUC.

Without the Intel INF you will see a yellow exclamation next to SMB device. Also you should use the Intel Storage drivers (IASTOR) instead of the default Windows AHCI, for better performance.

Also noticed that before installing all Windows 7 updates and the Intel IASTOR the system would freeze when under high I/O (I was running a benchmark test). After updates and drivers installed this went away.

Note Windows Update installs the Intel HD4000 drivers but they are not the latest. Again, download these from Intel.

The unit I have here doesn't have ethernet and Windows 7 does not recognise the Centrino WiFi adapter, so I had to download the Centrino drivers from Intel on another laptop, put on a USB and then update on the NUC.

After this the unit has performed really well, even playing TV3 with no problems decoding the HD signal.

It took me a good part of the afternoon to install all Windows 7 updates, IE10 and Intel drivers.

Windows 7 did not recognise the NIC in mine. That and the chipset drivers were downloaded from the Intel site. I'll need to have a look at the storage driver. Cheers for the heads up freitasm.

If I might ask, how does one get Amazon to ship one of these to NZ?

Has anyone noticed a problem with the NUC practically freezing when under heavy I/O?

Three times now my NUC will just freeze and do not respond to any command except for power off on the switch.

The last time I was copying my iTunes library from a USB drive into c: and had Media Center up on the screen. It was 8pm and I noticed the screen was still showing 6:33pm. Non-responsive to the Media Center remote control. ALT-TAB managed to get me to the desktop but nothing would work really.

The previous occurrence I was running AS SSD benchmark on this drive.

I think I've found the problem: overheating. I've noticed in the BIOS temperatures were around 76c and according to two reports this affects the NUC with the same symptoms I am experiencing now: Techreport and Intel Communities.

I have changed the BIOS cooling profile to "Cool" and so far it seems to be working. The following is during a 60GB copy:

I am using this one as a Media Center. Currently on top of the Dell Zino HD, half its size but so much faster.

Well, I'm kind of hoping it will get a good education and when it gets older perhaps become a doctor or a lawyer.
