I've got the following older TV's still going strong

A 2008 Sony 40" Full HD LED in my bedroom

A 2013 Panasonic 50"ST60 Plasma (currently unused in my living room)

Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+

LG B6 OLED (2016 era)

TV goes fine, including most apps.

However as an early mainstream OLED has fairly serious burn in - largely from the kids leaving it on the netflix homescreen.

Would buy LG (or any) OLED again for adults TV - not for kids.

I blame myself for reading this thread. It's the most likely reason our 7 year old Sony kd-49x8000d has died (sound is ok but screen is horizontal fuzzy lines).

It's not the main TV in the house so life goes on. It's been replaced by the 13 year old 40" sony that refuses to die.

7 years doesn't seem long enough to me.

I'm rocking a 2005 Pioneer plasma (1080p but pre-Kuro) and a 2011 Denon receiver that can still handle everything apart from Dolby Atmos and 4K (which will be fine until the TV dies).

The TV has even survived being stuffed into a wooden crate and a container trip from the UK.

My pre-Android Sony from 2013 has a user interface from the last Ice Age but it still works perfectly. Excellent picture quality and no signs of any problems at all. Can't speak for the sound as I have always used a digital connection to my external Yamaha amp, which is even older!

I have never used any of the receiver or 'smart' functions. The TV is just an HDMI monitor. All reception is through other gadgets. Works fine.
