RustyGonad: Your working... You just need to adjust the cardclient.conf in Acamd with your IP address, the username/password and the provider id 096A.

Hey dude, just a quick one. I'm running DVBViewer Pro 4.0.0.0 with newcs 1.65 (the dos screen one) works fine on header pin for Asus motherboard.

I increased the buffer values in the newcs.xml file and all is good. The problem is when you launch 2x DVBviewers the channel change is slow. You can see when you launch them the console screen newcs says user & user1 logged in etc.. Then starts process cmds.

The monitor for ACAM says sometimes channel no match.... when you click the channel again it fines a match and off it goes. The channel changes are about 5secs from $ky channel to $ky ch.

I have played with various values with SOFTCSA and ACAM but nothing changes. I have 2 nova-s working fine with 2x DVBViewer installed, just the lag of channel changing. Also, I couldn't get the new version of ACAMD 6.03 working with NEWCS 1.65b so are using an older version that someone posted here under 4HD Plugin.zip.

And, one last thing.. hoo hmmm... when I tune them in Win7 MCE it goes through the motions but when you sync guide to build the channel guide then edit channels to change source you only see #1 tuner or sometimes you get 2x channels in the guide one for #1 tuner and other for #2 tuner..

So, gave up for now.. be fully keen to get it to work and could (once issues sorted) could write a guide for other folk. :-)

One thing - I see you mention SoftCSA - if your using it get rid of it... it causes slow channel changes, crashes, channel locks etc etc etc. I'd say some nice things about it, except its a piece of crap... Oh hang on, I could say that v2.4 is slightly less of a piece of crap than v3.0, which it pure 100% brown steaming crap.

Acamd works with the native interface in DVBViewer so you don't need anything else in the Plugins folder, just Acamd and its files. If you are using SoftCSA get rid of it and most of your problems should disappear. The includes ffcsa or whatever its called.

I use a fresh install of DVBViewer in its own directory ie c:\DVBViewer1 & c:\DVBViewer2 for the second tuner.

When you install each one make sure you select PROGRAM DIRECTORY for the preferences. This makes each instance standalone. This is also critical to making dual tuners work, otherwise both copies share the same preferences, which is likely to cause havoc.

Also in each DVBViewer make sure you select all the devices that aren't being used to DO NOT USE under Options/Hardware. You should only select 1 tuner for each one, and it should be PREFERRED.

Cheers Dude. OK, so I don't need the SOFTCSA Thingy then..? so just have ACAMD in the MDPlugins folder and remove the other stuff.. so basically,

1. ACAMD version xx in MDPLUGINS Folder
2. NEWCS running like a good thing
3. Hope like ^%&$$.. it works

Yes, I have installed DVBViewer as per the DVBLink doco and disabled each other tuner from each DVBView install etc..

It is really werid that MCE just won't take it. It sees both turners when you add them etc.. just wont let you use them. I have checked the config on the sources templates config etc.. oh well.. I'll remove the CSA crappy things and see what happens :-)

I've just about got it working thanks guys for all the help. Setup pretty much as Rusty says - I put acamd into the plugins folder of DVBViewer rather than mdplugins as I read somewhere that that worked better. Worked dor me anyway - can get 3 instances of DVBViewer working at once all with 1 sec channel changes. I am having the same problem as taylorit in that I am not getting 2 sources via dvblink in MCE but I have not had time to work that through yet - hopefully it won't be a big problem and hopefully a new versin of DVBLink will be out soon allowing me to use all 3 tuners (and the EIT guide data)

Yep - Acamd goes in the Plugins folder. MDPlugins is no longer needed.

The only other thing I can think of that will stop the second tuner is that you need to map the channels in both instances of DVBViewer ie using the Plugins-->MCE Channel Mapping tool.

Other than that everything just worked for me.

I have done the suggested changes were by using acamd 603 in the plugin folder it did speed up the channel changing stuff. I then got the odd pink screen and it seems to hit newcs harder (i.e faster / more requests) which causes it to crash all the time. Also, with my other problem wit DVBLink I have checked both versions of DVBViewer and ensured that it is only using 1x Sat card. I then create duplicate channel lists in each version of DVBV. Then add the turners to MCE, if I just select the first Satellite like the guide says and don't run the channel sync tool I can see both #1 & #2 tuners assigned to one of the SBS channels, but if I run the channel sync tool to use the channel list I built in DVBV using MCEBridge Plugin it then shows a double up of channels in TV Guide and assigns a tuner to each. Werid. I might try a compete reinstall :-( any ideas..? Cheers

From what I have read on the DVBLogic site this is the way the program is designed to work at present. You can then combine the channels in MCE - a bit of a pain and I think they plan to fix it in a future release. I still can't even get this to work yet though ie I see both tuners running MCE TV Setup but only one lot of channels (using DVBLink Tuner 1 only) showing up after snychronising. Still working on it...

Hey dude, figured out the problem with dual tuners in Win7MCE. I had to edit channels and combine them so then you see only one TV1 in the guide once combined but when you edit the properties it shows both tuners. Having issues trying to figure out BGE any pointers you can throw my way..?

Couple of new questions.

I have had my setup running okay with 2 DVB-S tuners through DVBLink Beta 1 and BSE. I have recently tried Beta 2 and tried to get the EIT data to pass through but it does not seem to work 100% yet. Anyone else tried and having any luck? I'm particularly interested if anyone can get data for the freeview channels if they have DVB-T and DVB-S (via DVBLink) merged and have the DVB-T tuner set as preffered tuners in MCE.

Also in Beta 1 I got an occasional glitch every 10 secs but I could live with it. With 3 DVB-S tuners in Beta 2 the glitching has gotten too bad. Obviously I could just go back to 2 tuners but it seems a shame if there is a way to fix it. Can anybody help with what you can play around with to fix this? I have read that some cards can be overclocked to 6MHz - would this apply here or are you likely to fry it? I rememeber WaffleMakerMan mentioning on Page 1 of this thread something about "tswait="in Acamd but don't understand what that might achieve nor how to implement it.

As always any help would be most appreciated.

The guide in beta 2 seems to be a bit of a mess. As you have found it injects all sorts of crap where its not supposed to be.

Still need to have more a of a play around to see why its doing what its doing, but it looks like a bug to me...

On the good side the auto merging of channels seems good...

The glitches are caused by latency reading the card. Effectively each "tuner" can tolerate up to about 500ms before the picture falls to bits. I'll send you a PM with some more info later today.

Just thought id give this a go, i got newcs 1.65 running with ACamd 0.6.0.3 on AltDVB 2.2.0.3912. I have previously been using NDSCam 0.0.0.5 which is a special release the author "Joker" gave to me for the old 17xx skycards, however when i run newcs i get the following:

Im using the onboard com1 port on an older Winfast Mobo with AMD 939 processor and ddr400 ram with SkyStar2 dvb-s card

im assuming the problem could be either of the following:

1. my com port, i may need top get that specific addon com card suggested earlier in this thread.

2. im also using a 17xx sky card so may need to get a 45xx card??

Once i get these two issues sorted, whats the chances of newcs working?

I must also say that the current 17xx card im using still gives the 10sec glitches using the special release of ndscam, i can never watch anything live thru altdvb, i always have to do an encrypted record of the ts stream then decode later using OfflineCSA and ndscam, this competely eliminates the 10sec glitches. but can only watch something this way after its been recorded.

I take it your using the Jaycar reader...

Stop NewCS and try pulling the card out of the reader about 1mm. Literally just enoough to hear a very slight click. The lights should go off.

Restart NewCS and see what happens...

Your getting the exact same errors I got, until I figured out it was the card insert/removal detection causing the fault.

Hey Dude, how did you get the Guide coming through for the back ground scanning thingy. As I can get it working for the channel you are watching ok. This is setting the guide source to Transport Stream from within the DVBViewer plugin for MCE Bridge, if I change it to DVBViewer then no guide comes through. I have a couple of dvb-s tuners but the back ground scanning won't work. I have disabled and enabled in the EXTRA's menu etc.. but no joy
