Only had time for minimal testing.

Once I got the frequencies sorted, it pulled mediaworks data, as I got that frequency first. Then in subsequent tests it timed out and didn't get any data. Might have to exclude the radio stations as I didn't have time to exclude them.

Otherwise the partial xml file I did get looked ok, just need to get it working for all frequencies and not timing out.

Can post log info if needed.

Leaving off the preceeding 00 (for DVB-T) seems to work also.

Thanks to browned I've found the first problem.

If the MHEG data for a frequency was not completely read at the first attempt no further attempts were made and the collection would eventually time out.

Satellite seems to be successful virtually every time but not so terrestrial.

I have uploaded a new version to Sourceforge (1.0.8). There is also a zip for those who don't want to use an installer.

Note that the default ini file name is now EPG Collector.ini (previously EPGCollector.ini).

Remember to rename any ini files you have changed to avoid overwriting them on the next install.

Note: the new version is now looking for epg collector.ini, the old version was using epgcollector.ini.

Seems to be working better for me, I was getting exit code 6 and partial epgs, now getting 0 and full. Running a lot faster too.

Awesome. Thanks for finally making my HTPC usable SJB. You should charge for this - at least set up a paypal link so we can buy you a beer or something for your efforts. Let me know if you're ever looking for a C# job in Auckland.

1.0.8 is all working now. Thanks SJB.

Now to scan for any xml issues.

Perhaps a feature request could include an automatic ini file setup tool, so you select what you want and the ini is created. Would need a full list of DVB-T frequencies so you can just select region.

browned: Good idea, it's on the list.

james: Glad I can help out. Unfortunately I'm south of Geraldine, down near Timaru. Saying that, if you were interested in getting any off site work done pm me.

Auckland Freeview HD frequencies

Frequency:538000,8,Y
Frequency:570000,8,Y
Frequency:666000,8,Y

Works like a dream!

Maybe next is to either build the app that lets you build the .ini file
or include them in the download for a user to rename.

Tested and verified to work with an exit code of 0 on an HVR4000, using Auckland DVB-T frequencies extracting EPG from MHEG stream under Win XP.  Nice work to all involved.

Agreed, perhaps at a high level, station selection and region nomination, then the utility could detect and determine the appropriate source depending on tuner type and availability (DVB-T or DVB-S, MHEG or EIT).

Not sure you would want to exempt those as there is EPG data available for all of those except reserved on DVB-T.
