CRIMSON PEAK (2015) LIMITED EDITION.

Available to Pre-order from Arrow Video US Direct & Amazon US - TBA: Release Date: May 21st

From the imagination of Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro comes Crimson Peak, a lavish, stunningly realized journey into the dark heart of Gothic romance...

Beginning in Buffalo, New York, during the 1880s, Crimson Peak stars Mia Wasikowska as Edith Cushing, an aspiring writer who is haunted by the death of her mother. Edith falls in love with seductive stranger Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), who whisks her off to Allerdale Hall, his baronial, yet dilapidated English mansion built upon a mountain of blood-red clay. Here Edith meets Lucille (Jessica Chastain), Thomas's sister who at times seems hostile and jealous. As Edith struggles to feel at home in the imposing residence, she gradually uncovers a horrendous family secret and encounters supernatural forces that will help her discover the terrible truth behind Crimson Peak.

Boasting incredibly intricate and ornate production design and a rich visual style, del Toro's film is a grandiose, boldly baroque triumph of Gothic decadence, which expertly combines and contrasts the sublimely beautiful with the shockingly grotesque. Crimson Peak is presented here in sumptuous special packaging, with a wealth of extra features, affording unprecedented insight into the making of this modern Gothic classic.

NARC (2002) LIMITED EDITION

Available to Pre-order from Arrow Video US Direct & Amazon US - TBA: Release Date: May 21st

A natural successor to the violent thrillers of the 70s, director Joe Carnahan's breakthrough Narc brings the genre screaming into a new era, setting the standard for the modern cop drama with its gritty, unrelenting tone and style.

In wintry Detroit, narcotics cop Nick Tellis (Jason Patric) is recovering from an undercover operation gone wrong. In the hopes of being assigned a quiet desk job, he agrees to return to active duty and partner up with Detective Henry Oak (Ray Liotta) to investigate the apparent murder of Oak's former partner. As both men become lost in the depths of the case, boundaries become blurred, and their relationship begins to vacillate between intensely personal and unsettlingly suspicious.

One of the best crime films of the 21st century, Narc is back in an intense new filmmaker-approved 4K remaster, with brutally immersive Atmos audio, and featuring hours of previously unreleased on-set interviews and brand-new bonus features.

The Blu-ray in the NARC package above is actually Region Free as it only has extras on it and not the movie itself.

I expect that most of we collector's have already got MAD MAX: Fury Road (2015) in our collections in one of the physical formats available to us. To squeeze the last drops out of the film, Warner Bros are releasing a UK 4K Ultra HD SteelBook which is available to Pre-order from Amazon UK. The release date is June 3rd, so, plenty of time to save your pennies 😁

This isn't a surprise given that Furiosa is due for release in Theatres in May '24

I suspect the studio are funding it from the new films press and promo  budget

Other collector's on this thread have reported that JB Hi-Fi stores have imported some titles. You would need to browse their stores, they are not available in every store, or online. It's pot luck really.

The only other way is to import directly from Arrow Video US or Arrow Films UK. Amazon US, UK and AU also sell them. You can order from Amazon AU but the films are delivered from the US or UK.

Having mentioned Amazon Australia in my last post, I realized that I hadn't browsed the website for some time. The last time I had a look there were about seven pages to peruse, now I'm up to 33 and counting.

Most of the US, UK and some German imports are available from there. To know which film is coming from the UK, the case usually has the classification stickers on it. The US cases don't have classification stickers, but most have a Digital Copy included.

The prices are, to say the least, slightly inflated. You have to be patient and make up a wish list, checking regularly can unveil some good deals. Also, all purchases count toward the AU$59 free shipping offer. I'm trying to purchase Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 {AU$36] but I haven't been able to find another reasonably priced title that I want yet (still browsing). 60 pages and counting. 87 pages altogether. The later pages are mostly titles that are unavailable at this time.

DUNE: Part Two (2024) • 4K Ultra HD SteelBook Edition [$44.98]

DUNE: 2-Film Collection • 4K Ultra HD [$59.98]

Release Date: TBA

Its not been confirmed if a Blu-ray will be included in the Standard or SteelBook Editions, but I would expect the SteelBook to have one included.

The film is getting rave reviews from critics; one said that "it's the best Sci-Fi movie ever made" which is quite a statement. It appears that it is one of those films that has to be seen on the largest cinema screen available in your town. NZ cinemas are showing it now.
