There is nothing to say that Kung Fu Panda or either of the other two US releases that I posted today will get an Australia/NZ release. Maybe Universal and Warner Bros. didn't think that they would have a large enough customer base in our countries.

It has been known for titles to be released here up to two years or more after their US releases, so never say never, but it doesn't look promising at the moment.

Movieman:

Still no sign of an Australia/NZ 4K Ultra HD release for THE BEEKEEPER. Grossing over US$150M at the worldwide Box-Office and making almost four times its reported production cost; I thought that it would be nailed on for a 4K release.

Good News! THE BEEKEEPER (2024)  has been announced for a 4K Ultra HD Australian release.

JBAU have it on their website for Pre-order [AU$39.98] Release Date: May 8th

I'm excited to announce that Mercury Studios are releasing in the US on 4K Ultra HD the amazing 1981 concert QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL!  And that's not all; Also included will be their 21 minute legendary performance in the LIVE AID concert at the UK's Wembley stadium on July 13th 1985.

Release Date is May 8th. Not yet available for Amazon US Pre-order. I will post as soon as it is.

Disc One of the 2x4K Ultra HD package features Queen Rock Montreal in Full Frame screen format, as it was originally intended to be viewed, along with their iconic Live Aid performance, presented for the first time in upscaled HD with Dolby Atmos audio. Disc Two presents the Montreal concert in widescreen format, and a behind the scenes featurette composed of Queen rehearsing for Live Aid interspersed with an interview with the band, recorded just prior to Live Aid. Both screen formats of the 4K version of Queen Rock Montreal can be displayed in either HDR or SDR. The Queen Rock Montreal and Live Aid performances are presented with LPCM Stereo, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, and, for the first time, Dolby Atmos. Queen Rock Montreal also includes a commentary track recorded by Brian May & Roger Taylor talking discussing the film.

Now, if we could get both this and STOP MAKING SENSE released in Australia/NZ, I'd be a very happy man.

It's available to Pre-order now from Queen's Official Website (ships to New Zealand) Queen Rock Montreal

WOW! Releasing old concerts plus going to the trouble of 4K and Dolby Atmos?!

Very tempted by this...

Great news about the concert 4ks. I had the Queen Montreal concert on VHS, and then bought the Blu Ray which also included the Live Aid performance.  So I'm definitely going to get the Queen 4K and probably the Talking Heads one as well.

MADAME WEB 4K Ultra HD has been withdrawn from the JBAU website. Maybe its getting the artwork etc. updated or the bad reviews have made Sony have second thoughts about releasing it here.

I don't wish to push Digital Streaming ahead of Physical Media in this thread, but for those of us having problems getting STOP MAKING SENSE or are not willing to pay the exorbitant price and shipping being asked on the A24 website; their is another way.

iTunes or the Apple TV App have the film coming to Digital on March 27th in Dolby Vision/Dolby Digital 5.1 [$19.99]. Its a bit of a bare bones release with no Extras at the moment, so take it for what it is... Just another option.

Do JB still do Easter sales over Easter for media? Might hold off my next order and see if there's any discounts

JBNZ and JBAU usually have a sale at long weekends, so there is a good chance that we will get one at Easter.

Paramount Pictures are releasing a 4K Ultra HD SteelBook Edition in the US of STAR TREK III: The Search for Spock to celebrate the films 40th Anniversary. Release Date: May 28th

Available for Pre-order at Amazon US, currently with the free shipping option.

Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner) has defeated his archenemy but at great cost. His friend Spock has apparently been killed, the USS Enterprise is being scrapped, and starship physician Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley) has taken ill. McCoy's odd behavior is evidence he's harboring Spock's katra, or animating spirit, and Kirk seeks to take the Enterprise back to the Genesis Planet and find his friend. Rebuffed, Kirk takes dramatic action that results in war with deadly Klingons.

Video: 4K Dolby Vision/HDR10 • Audio: Dolby True HD 7.1 • Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1 • Runtime: 105 Mins.

Amazon AU has something called Big Smile Sale. There's some 4K stuff. Not sure how much of it might count as a bargain but there's probably a few in there somewhere. The Last Of Us 4K for $38AU sounds reasonable to me for instance.
