So I got my MiBox 4K.  Set up and installed with no problems.  Netflix and TED working like they should.

There was no browser pre-installed and I was surprised to find that Chrome isn't available for Android TV.

I side-loaded it but there was no mouse pointer.  Side loaded a couple of other browsers that I have on my phone but they were displayed sideways and no pointer.

I did find a purpose built browser and downloaded a remote app for the phone which functions as a d-pad and keyboard.  I don't see myself doing a lot of browsing, but if I do I will look at bluetooth keyboard and trackpad.

I find that it spazzes out when I use the off button on the remote. YouTube will come back up and be frozen and not able to play anything. Have to go into apps then running apps and stop it then relaunch it.

So I don't turn it off but it seems to turn itself off sometimes.

managed to get some usb to dc adapters for this, since they are powered by 5v 2.1amps.  so can plug directly into my jackon usb power points and not need to a dc adapter.  so much easier.

pretty sure it was this one

I ordered a bunch of different sized ones, trying to find the right size.  I know 5.5mm was too big and pretty sure 3mm was too small.

Thanks Reven

OK, I'm pretty impressed so far, plugged in Ugreen usb hub, attached ethernet cable, attached 2.5 1TB hard drive, installed es file explorer from google play and now watching 1080 mkv movie. HDMI CEC on my LG tv works just like the mi box remote.

Im finding that in youtube (90% of what I do) that the app sucks compared to the PS4 or my TV one - doesnt show watched or not on the video thumbnails, doesnt show 4k or hd on them either,

Getting lipsync issues, starts to have little breaks in the audio sometimes after a few hours of playback, solved by ending it and running youtube again.

But biggest fail IMO is that if I have it set to the automatic video mode selection, it chooses 1080 50Hz for the menus and stuff, and doesnt seem to shift it to match the video that is being played, had to force 2160p 60 in the menu. Not sure if it is supposed to change to 24/50/60 as needed when on auto, but the screens look so much worse with it outputting 1080 instead of 2160.

Nothing has complained about HDCP yet on it, but I have not tried netflix or hulu or anything.

I'll hope for some updates before Christmas. Putting it back in box so my wife can wrap it and give it to me for Christmas. I needed to make sure it worked, first time I've used aliexpress.

I've used with Netflix, Spotify and Google Music.  All working faultlessly.

The only issue I have had is casting TVNZ OD from a laptop.  The colours were really odd - bands and patches of red and blue tint overlaying the normal colours.  The same episode cast to Chromecast immediately afterwards with no problems.

No issues so far casting from my S4.

Has anyone tried using a VPN app with this device? I have tried Astrill and PureVPN apps, both side loaded, but both require touchscreen to work. Also the VPN settings in settings crash everytime I go to use it. I don't really want to buy a new router just to have this device use a VPN for the few times I would want it to. I also tried installing openvpn and another VPN add on via the fusion repository on Kodi and they did not work either. Any suggestions?

Otherwise I am pretty happy with it, I have installed Spotify and Kodi, both work well.(Tried Plex and preferred Kodi) A few audio sync issues occasionally, but they bug the wife more than me. ES File Explorer works but is a little annoying to navigate at times with the remote.

I do not have Netflix, but used @Batwing  account and it worked fine.

Resolved the VPN issue by installing OpenVpn for Android, I set up an openvpn certificate for Astrill and it works fine. The only thing is that there is no key icon displayed to show when you have the vpn running.

One thing I am seeing lately is when powering off and then back on the Mibox by the remote control, occasionally the remote is no longer paired and I have to repair it.
