Just to add to this, i've got my Xiomi Mi Box running Android TV 6; no 7 release yet.

Have Kodi installed that boots up as soon as the box is turned on or woken from sleep, connects and plays everything perfectly from TVheadend and also has connectivity to all my stored movies plus google play movies too... Has built in IR so I can use my Harmony remote to configure various actions for Kodi and then leave the small bluetooth for everything else... Very happy with it!

I like the built in TV channels that now has a TVH plugin, but Android tv 6 only has basic play functions no PVR ability; TV v7 has this ability and so hopefully I'll be able to replace Kodi with a built in android tv solution in time.

that is indeed the plan but im starting to think we will even be luckly to get a non beta android 6 on the mi box let alone 7. Might have to get a shield mate. 

So my Mi Box has Android 6.01 TV but no sign yet of 7; apparently there is a closed beta 7 dated from august out there but I'm not sure what the delays are... Live Channels is awesome, so smooth and easy to use.. Love the EPG.  Android TV 7 would add the DVR options which I think would make it ideal with the TVH channels plugin.

This purchase was a test case for me; the real box will be an nVidia Shield TV... Just didn't want to spend $300 on one for it to not be very good at what I wanted, considering I am trading from a Windows 10 HTPC with i5 etc.  I can use this in the bedroom as I won't need the bells and whistles there.

OK, I may need a little bit of help please!   I have set up my PC, and it is running with a Hauppage WinTV-quadHD TV Tuner, and I've installed Emby and also enabled the NextPVR plugin.  

But the first issue seems to be the tuner - I ran up WinTv 8.5 and it scanned the channels, but I only got 12 channels.  My old Tivo was (is still) running off the same aerial connection and gets most of the freeview channels.  What am I doing wrong?

xyf: It's probably missing prime HGTV choice or something. That's because for some reason nextpvr doesn't look at the frequency. It's like 605000 MHz or giga or whatever it is. I can look later when I have access to my htpc. That's what I found anyway

That would be great - thank you.  I have suspicions that my aerial is not up to scratch as well - which is getting checked today.

The frequencies at the top of the table are the allocated bandwidth (8 MHz per channel), so to tune to that channel, use the middle frequency of that range (ie add 4 MHz to the bottom frequency).
