Sony Pictures have announced a US 10th Anniversary SteelBook release of AMERICAN HUSTLE (2013).

Available to Pre-order on Amazon US with a Release Date of May 21st and currently includes the free shipping option.

The con is on when scam artists and lovers Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) are entrapped by ambitious FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper) and coerced into participating in a major sting operation which hinges on snaring politician Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner) and his associates. Complicating matters is Irving's wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence), who could bring the whole operation crashing down around them all. From the director of Silver Linings Playbook and The Fighter, AMERICAN HUSTLE is outrageously entertaining and one of the most acclaimed films of 2013.

I don't report every US release on this forum. I usually stick to films that I don't think will get a release in Australia/NZ (The Paramount SteelBooks etc.). It would be great if any of those SteelBooks did get released here, but it's unlikely.

ONE LOVE (2024) has just been announced for the US and will include Standard and SteelBook releases, but I believe there is a good chance that both options will be announced for us as well, so I won't post it yet. (Oh! I just have 😁)

$22 each. Sounds good...

Not quite so good compared to the DVD (remember them ?) version though...($5.50 each)

How dare you mention that prehistoric disc media in this 4K Ultra HD thread 😁 Mind you, its probably not as bad as me pushing a Digital copy of Stop Making Sense a few posts ago. πŸ™

On bluray.com for Australian new releases, it has One Love being released on May 29, the same day as American Sniper.  Plus Sanity has it for pre-order as well on May 29. So hopefully, that is correct.

DUNE: Part Two has almost hit the US$500M mark at the worldwide Box-Office. With a production cost of US$190M it needed to do well. This success should lock-in a third film, which I believe was the plan all along.

I'm really looking forward to the physical media release and the SteelBook is a must.

100%! Loved Part 2 and will be buying it on 4K. I might even splurge on a steel book as well; never bothered before.

I used to be a hardcore SteelBook collector. I would only buy films if they had a SteelBook option, otherwise, no deal.

My collecting habits have changed a lot since then and I even sold off about 50 of my premium SteelBooks, which I now regret. I still have exactly 348, of which the vast majority are housing Blu-ray discs. I buy the occasional Steelie, but only for blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick, Oppenheimer and the upcoming Dune: Part Two. I do also buy 4K catalogue titles and replace the Blu-ray in the SteelBooks that I already have. The Goonies and The Departed will be added at some stage.

Warner Bros. have announced a US 4K Ultra HD SteelBook release of BATMAN (1989) to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the film.

Available to Pre-order from Amazon US with a scheduled release date of May 28th and currently includes the free shipping option.

Jack Nicholson is the Joker, who emerged from a horrible accident as a maniacal criminal. Michael Keaton is the Caped Crusader, who emerged from a childhood trauma to become a masked crimefighter. Kim Basinger is Vicki Vale, the talented photojournalist desired by both men. And Batman is the movie, the all-out spectacular directed by Tim Burton, set to songs by Prince and a music score by Danny Elfman, and an Academy Award winner for Best Art Direction/Set Decoration (Anton Furst and Peter Young).

Well, it looks like the wait is over for the next James Bond. Aaron Taylor Johnson has reportedly been offered the role and he has yet to accept.

I think Johnson will be a great fit for the Bond franchise, and at 33 has the ability to play the role for the next 10 - 12 years or longer.

Time

Daniel Craig was 38 when He started as Bond, they got 14 years out of him (06-20)

I'm guessing it will be a similar 3-4 film deal, ( depending on box office) -

I think the days of 6+ films from one actor are well behind us.

Pleased to see JB Hi-Fi NZ has added a blu ray of The Holdovers to its release schedule (April 3). Probably my third fav movie of 2023 behind Oppenheimer and Killers of the Flower Moon. Shame no 4k (other than UK) but think a blu ray will suffice.

Nothing new and exotic on the shelves of the Palmy store this week.

Nice! I might pick it up as well, it was a touching movie, not normally what I enjoy but it had so much Oscar buzz I gave it a shot and enjoyed it.

Haven't mustered the courage or time to watch Killers of the Flower Moon yet πŸ˜†

Also wondering what happened to Ridley Scott's Napoleon?? It seems to have vanished, any word on a physical release? I missed it at the movies.

I believe Napoleon was financed / distributed by Apple TV, which typically means it will be streaming well before any physical media is contemplated, much like Flowers of the Killer Moon (also Apple), which I think has only got a physical release in Italy or France. Will prob have to wait for something like a Criterion release, as was the case for The Irishman (Netflix).
