The artwork for the upcoming US wide SteelBook release for GHOSTBUSTERS: Frozen Empire has been revealed. It is likely to be the same artwork for the Australian release, although Walmart have an exclusive Blu-ray SteelBook with different artwork, I expect the wide release to be the one that we get here.

Warner Bros. are releasing in the US... GODZILLA/KONG: MONSTERVERSE: 5-Film Collector's Edition. It's a distinct possibility that we will get this release, but I have no confirmation as yet.

Presented in a Digipak housed in a Slip Box, the release will include the following five films. GODZILLA (2014) • KONG: Skull Island (2017) • GODZILLA: King of the Monsters (2019) • GODZILLA vs KONG (2021) • GODZILLA X KONG: The New Empire (2024) and a Special Features Blu-ray.

Amazon US are taking Pre-orders, but there is no confirmed release date. The release qualifies for free shipping to NZ.

It turns out that the UK are getting the exact opposite to the US in that the Walmart Blu-ray exclusive SteelBook is the UK wide release and the US 4K UHD wide release is an HMV exclusive in the UK, but is a 4K UHD there. So, we could be getting either one.

US Walmart Exclusive • UK wide release.

The latest release in the Paramount Presents series, which is available in the US, is a bit of a hybrid release. The set includes the classic CHINATOWN (1974) starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway and another Nicholson movie... THE TWO JAKES (1990) on 1080p Blu-ray disc.

Amazon US have it up for Pre-order, with a release date of June 18th and currently the free shipping option applies. The Two Jakes Blu-ray may be Region A Locked but Paramount usually don't lock their Blu-rays.

CHINATOWN: Video: Dolby Vision/HDR10 • Audio: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 • Aspect Ratio: 2.35:1 • Runtime: 131 Minutes.

Monster movies; they have a niche audience... right? Wrong. Warner Bros./Legendary's GODZILLA X KONG: The New Empire has exceeded all expectations on its opening weekend by garnering in excess of US$195 Million worldwide. It's the biggest opening weekend ever for an Adam Wingard directed film.

DUNE: Part Two shows no signs of letting up as it passes the US$627 Million mark with KUNG FU PANDA 4 showing an excellent return at over US$346 Million so far.

GHOSTBUSTERS: Frozen Empire is advancing steadily, but maybe not as well as Sony Pictures would like. After it's second week it has hit over US$108 Million worldwide, on a reported US$100 Million budget.

I ordered Rambo: Last Blood on backorder. It took about six weeks to arrive. They even emailed me asking if I wanted to cancel. I hung in and it eventually arrived.

There are some strange going ons regarding the Madame Web 4K release in Australia/NZ. JBAU originally had both a Standard and SteelBook Editions; About two weeks ago both Editions disappeared from their website. Now, EzyDVD have removed their listing of the Standard Edition, leaving Mighty Ape (NZ) and DVD Land (AU) as the two main sellers that still have the Standard Edition on their websites.

I know the film got panned by critics and the general public alike, but it still seems odd that sellers could be ditching it.

I had a couple on back order earlier on in the year.

I gave up and canceled after a month when they emailed that they couldn’t give a timeline of when they could fulfill the order.

Got my order refunded and then picked them up on sale at EsyDVD 😉

Warner Bros. are releasing a US SteelBook of ROCKY BALBOA (2006) Theatrical and Director's Cuts. The release will include both 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray Editions of the film.

Amazon have a placeholder on their website. Release Date: TBA.

When he loses a highly publicized virtual boxing match to ex-champ Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), reigning heavyweight titleholder Mason Dixon (Antonio Tarver) retaliates by challenging the Italian Stallion to a nationally televised, 10-round exhibition bout. To the surprise of his son and friends, Rocky agrees to come out of retirement and face an opponent who’s faster, stronger and thirty years his junior. With the odds stacked firmly against him, Rocky takes on Dixon in what will become the greatest fight in boxing history, a hard-hitting, action-packed battle of the ages!

OCEAN'S TRILOGY (2001 - 2007)

Release Date Australia: May 8th • Release Date NZ: TBA

Ocean's 11: Hollywood's A list stars come together to pull off the most daring heist Las Vegas has ever known...11 men, 3 casinos, 150 million dollars, 1 chance to pull it off. It will take brilliant planning, shrewd scheming, cunning disguises, truckloads of technology and just a little bit of luck. But how do you fleece one of the most ruthless Casino operators in town?...and how do you break into vaults that no-one has even got near before? If it works, this will be the scam of their lives. Loaded with witty dialogue, packed with daring action and featuring a truly clever script, this is going to be one night Vegas never forgets.

Ocean's 12: Set three years after "Ocean's 11," this sequel shows us Danny Ocean gathering up his complete gang of con artists and thieves from the first film in New York City before they all jet off to Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris to pull off three separate heists. All the while, the boys must deal with increasing pressure from a very mad Terry Benedict, a dedicated Europol agent, and a mysterious French rival simply called Dinner Jacket. Will Ocean's crew reach their full potential and become the greatest thieves the world has ever known, or will they fall victim to Benedict's revenge? All bets are off.

Ocean's 13: Danny Ocean again runs the game, so no rough stuff. No one gets hurt. Except for double-crossing Vegas kingpin Willy Bank (Al Pacino). Ocean's crew will hit him where it hurts: in his wallet. On opening night of Bank's posh new casino tower The Bank, every turn of a card and roll of the dice will come up a winner for bettors. And they'll hit him in his pride, making sure the tower doesn't receive a coveted Five Diamond Award. That's just the start of the flimflams. The boys are out to break The Bank. Place your bets!

The GODZILLA/KONG MONSTERVERSE 5-FILM COLLECTION is getting an Australian release. DVD land have it on their website at a quite reasonable AU$49.95.

I don't think that we will be getting the Digipak, just a standard black case. No release date yet, but at least we know that it's coming

Broken record time -

Idly considering getting The Roaring Twenties from Amazon US cause its apparently half price. By the time you convert currencies, add postage, add gst $24US turns into $70NZ.

Not idly considering it any more...
