Broken record time -

Idly considering getting The Roaring Twenties from Amazon US cause its apparently half price. By the time you convert currencies, add postage, add gst $24US turns into $70NZ.

Not idly considering it any more...

Definitely feeling the same way atm. I've been finding myself buying a bit more on iTunes due to the cost of importing. Most recently I got True Like in 4K on iTunes for $8, but it would have cost me $60 plus shipping for order the 4K disc from Amazon/Zavvi. Hoping the disc might on sale at some point in the future, but with shipping and GST I imagine it'll still cost a pretty penny.

For anyone lured by Rarewaves low post costs, I've just had an order from February refunded after it never showed up, and never got a tracking number. This was an LP rather than a DVD, but I'm sure when I used to use them, they'd give me tracking that I could keep an eye on. They were very quick to refund, which is all good, and they indicated delivery has been slow to our region. Though it felt like a stock reply to me.

My three Rarewaves orders through eBay turned up. Two arrived on the same day by courier, about 10 days after ordering. That's about what I expect for orders from the UK. The other took a further 14 days to arrive (by post, after Easter), but the labeling suggested there was a postal processing error.

Wow. Thank is indeed a bit of a price difference. I still got the True Lies disc from Amazon though. Think it was a free postage thing which helped (a bit).

Ordered stuff from Rarewaves and only had one thing not turn up. But like you say, got my money back and it happens. Don't think they ever did tracking for me though.

As mentioned a few pages back Chalkys do free postage here over a not too high purchase limit and I've got a 100% success rate with them (for one item...). No tracking also though (I think).

Just had a quick look at Chalkys. Free worldwide shipping if you spend £15 (about $32) or more. Looks like a good import option.

Still no Australian release date for DUNE: Part Two 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray. But the US has a release date of May 14th, so we can expect a late May date over here.

The SteelBook is a must have for my collection, but I'm getting worried that JBNZ won't be getting it (although I think that they will). At the moment JBAU have a limit of one per customer, but If they decide to open it up so that ebay scalpers can grab unlimited amounts, it may sell out rather quickly. I prefer to buy from JBNZ so that I can pick it up from one of the Christchurch stores. I won't wait much longer before ordering from JBAU... another week maybe. I Am Unfortunate Smiley

DUNE: Part Two continues to lead the worldwide Box-Office charts for 2024, despite a considerable slow down in takings. It has now passed US$660 Million and will soon be available to stream... April 16th in the US and probably NZ as well.

KUNG FU PANDA 4 is proving a great success for DreamWorks as it has now earned over US$410 Million and GODZILLA x KONG: The New Empire is tracking well at over US$361 Million on a reported US$135 Million budget.

The let down is GHOSTBUSTERS: Frozen Empire which has stumbled along to over US$138 Million. Sony will be hoping for a good return from Physical Media and Digital Downloads, to claw some money back.
