Ive got a USB to ethernet for it now, but not plugged it in since its working fine on the ac wireless and its now burried at the back of the entertainment cabinet. Dont think its a gigabit adapter tho. Is the port even USB 3 on the mibox? I thought it was a 2.0 port. In anycase 100 meg is more than enough for streaming anything that it would decode.

I've got mine connected to a Ugreen 3 Port USB 3.0 RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps HUB for ethernet.

@Blanch do you have a way to test what speeds you're getting with that USB Ethernet and does the hub work as well? I was particularly looking at this product and just left it on my wishlist

Anyway, got my Mi Box... My aliexpress seller shipped from Singapore via DHL. Looks like they matched the US price of 69.99.

Can't get Amazon Prime video to work (probably just for the Shield and Sony Android TVs). Viki (Korean drama) works fine so yay. Netflix I haven't tried as I don't have an account atm. Casting took a couple of reboots to work. Google Play doesn't seem to have a lot of apps so sideloading it is (Lightbox etc)

I'm casting Lightbox at the moment.  Not great results - its skips/jerks quite frequently.

If you do end up side-loading Lightbox.

I'd be keen to hear how you did it and how well it worked.

I had faultless performance watching the black caps v Bangladesh on Sunday while in the garage. Sideloaded SkyGo, and went well.

I was also using my HDPVR to stream the game down, via plex / nextpvr,  but the power line network connection was not quite up to it.

I got mine from Walmart when I was in the states before xmas, and I purchased a BT controller and use it with  my psx emulator, which gives pretty good results on the big screen.

Think I'll have to buy another for another room in the house.  What's the charge to ship via youshop?

So I got my MiBox 4K.  Set up and installed with no problems.  Netflix and TED working like they should.

There was no browser pre-installed and I was surprised to find that Chrome isn't available for Android TV.

@MikeAqua Did you get chrome working? It's available for Android TV now (On my Sony anyway)

Sorry missed the first post, I side loaded OOKLA speed test tonight to mi box, connecting flash drive and wired USB mouse (so I could select begin test) to the ugreen hub, I live in Titirangi and get the same full speed broadband of 10 Mbps :( on the desktop, phone and mi box. (Chorus is saying "Better broadband using fibre will be available at this address Dec-2019").

Cheers, Just wanted to ensure I got a legit version, not the chinese one. I see the Xiaomi store on there now.  Can anyone confirm if it ships with a power adapter?

yeah EU plug is what I got from aliexpress.  I got an american plug from mi.com, rather have the american plug (adapters make those more secure and less bulky).

in the end I replaced the adapter with one I bought from dicksmith for $2 when they were closing down (bought a bunch figuring they were cheap and I may need them at one point, and I did :))
