my one is 65E17NUS.
Cool thanks.
So my 55e17nus should do just fine too :)
you used @toejam316 link to download update file, right?
Does your 55E17NUS have any external buttons? Mine has no buttons at all so I can't do the on/off
Took me a while to find them as well, there are small buttons under the TV in the middle. the middle one is the power button you can tell that it feels slightly different to the others.
Thanks to all done update and looks very good so far with menu a lot easier to use , always preferred nougat to marshmallow and definitely wouldnt want oreo.

Thanks. Update done. Looking good so far. Hopefully it sorts out my problems (remote, EPG plus shopmode)
I'm surprised how many people here have the same TV - must be more popular than I thought being an "offbrand"
Went and grabbed a 55X2 last night. Waiting to get it set up over the weekend...
Any calibration tips?
Now TCL are taking over Onkyo and Pioneer... will they be rebranded as Pioneer's in NZ?
Imagine people finally replacing their old Kuro with a Pioneer LED!
Running the new firmware and everything seems ok (the EPG is still a little flakey but better than it use to be)
However I've noticed the freeview live TV has completely disappeared
Went to the Playstore to download the tvnz on demand app and it's not showing either (which makes me think it's not compatible)
Anyone else notice this?
Turned the TV on this morning and there was a system update waiting to install , now updated to Android 7.
Common sense is not as common as you think.

Found the problem - HbbTV was turned off. Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_Broadcast_Broadband_TV#Australia_and_New_Zealand
Learn something new every day
TVNZ on demand is still flakey as - was trying to watch Nigel Latta's new money series and it keeps playing an ad and then going back to the main screen. Ended up just chromecasting it from the TVNZ app on my phone (thanks to the builtin chromecast)
whats backlight bleed and 'dirty screen effect' like for other owners? Finally got mine setup and now that I've seen the issues, I don't think i can stop seeing it :/
