I was browsing Blu-ray.com late last night and I found a Kiwi was selling a sealed US copy of The Wolf of Wall Street 4K. Apparently he had mistakenly ordered it twice. I immediately PM'd him and a deal was done for NZ$20 including shipping from Wellington.

I have had this film on my Amazon US wish list for months. I was really pleased to be able to get it for NZ$20. You just have to get lucky sometimes 😁

Why is it always other people...

Abyss 4k JB NZ Release.

Am very surprised to see this on their website. Late May release.

I understood Fox/Disney titles will no longer be released in NZ, did I miss an announcement?

Cheers.

The Abyss and True Lies on the JBNZ website are US imports. JB must be testing the market, so hopefully we will get more in the future.

Fox/Disney haven't changed their stance on Australian releases, but some sellers are importing popular titles. It will be interesting to see if we get Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes here, which is a Fox title.

EDIT: Just seen that DVD Land have Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes on Blu-ray and DVD up for Pre-order. If they can get the BD and DVD releases, then we can expect a 4K release somewhere along the line.

Appreciate your input and yes, I’d be hoping for more future US releases also.

Cheers!

Had positive first eBay purchase from Blowitoutahere site. $5 US post, tracked and delivered in 2 weeks. Only sore point was when I took the plastic wrapping off, I accidentally ripped the front the case. 😩
Anyone recommend somewhere for cheap replacement 4k cases? This is the slim US release type. I had a look on Amazon they were priced at about $20 which seemed ludicrous. Might as well get whatever the cheapest movie is and swap them over.

Word is that Australia is getting four of the recently announced US 4K Ultra HD titles. Not confirmed, but likely to happen.

ANCHORMAN: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004) 20th Anniversary

TEAM AMERICA: World Police (2004) 20th Anniversary

FORREST GUMP (1994) Re-Release for 30th Anniversary. Don't know if its a new transfer.

TAXI DRIVER (1976) SteelBook Edition

Wow, I'd consider all four of them... to my shame, I've never seen Taxi Driver.

Prices for replacement cases are ridiculous. I have several spare which I plan to keep for future use. If I have a Blu-ray SteelBook, I usually put the 4K disc in it and it gives me a spare case. Some of my Steels came with a DVD or Bonus Disc which I dispose of so that I can keep both the 4K and Blu-ray in the same Steel.

This 4K Ultra HD title will be available from Amazon US and also look for it on Amazon AU.

INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1956, Black & White) 4K Ultra HD & Blu-ray (Region A Locked) • Dolby Vision/HDR10 • DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 • 1.85:1 & 2.00:1 Options • 80 Mins. • June 25

“They’re already here! You’re next!” With these chilling words, Invasion of the Body Snatchers sounded the clarion call to the dangers of conformity, paranoia and mass hysteria at the heart of 1950s American life. One of the greatest and most influential science fiction films ever made, Invasion stars Kevin McCarthy as Miles Bennell, a doctor in a small California town whose patients are becoming increasingly overwrought, accusing their loved ones of being emotionless imposters. They’re right! Plant-like extraterrestrials have invaded Earth, taking possession of humans as they sleep and replicating them in giant seed pods. Convinced that a catastrophic pandemic is imminent, Bennell, in a terrifying race for his life, must warn the world of this deadly invasion of the pod people—before it’s too late! This is the original adaptation of Jack Finney’s eerie tale, produced by Walter Wanger and directed by Don Siegel in beautiful black-and-white Superscope. One of the mightiest cult classics of cinema is now scarier and timelier than ever! This special edition features the film in two aspect ratios, 2.00:1 and 1.85:1.

I've had the Planet of the Apes Trilogy in my Amazon US wish list for several months. Problem is, when the price is right, I'm not offered free shipping. But, when the price is high, I do get free shipping 😒. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is getting good reviews and I hope to add this to my collection. But being a Fox title, we may not get it here (although DVD Land have the Blu-ray up for Pre-order). I expect that there will be a new quadrilogy set incoming, so I will wait for that. New Dolby Atmos or DTS:X audio would be the icing on the cake.

Good luck with the patience thing.

JB AU has them separately, if they'll actually send them and all their sales have disappeared for now, and don't know if the blurays are included. Deep Discount has the set on backorder which probably doesn't count.

...and JB won't send so much as one of them...

I've wanted these movies for awhile too. I'm hoping for a four movie set release also.

Great to see Weta getting props for their work.

The Planet of the Apes films are available from EzyDVD individually for AU$14.97 and DVD Land for AU$14.95 each. I will wait for a possible quadrilogy and hope that they will all have an upgraded Atmos/DTS:X soundtrack.

Nice to know that I can get them from Australia if my plan doesn't work out.

Cool !

Except, far as I can see, the JB's are 4K only vs 4K + bluray for Zavvi...
