SJB: Could be because it's a server but I would have though someone with a similar configuration would have already tried it.

Do you have a file called mpg2splt.ax in the windows system32 directory (or anywhere for that matter) on the machine?

Yea go it in c:\windows\system32 as well as c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386

SJB: I have uploaded a new version to Sourceforge (1.0.8). There is also a zip for those who don't want to use an installer.

It seems to be working well for me on 32 bit Vista, DVB-T from Auckland Waiatarua transmitter using Hauppauge HVR-2200 tuner.

On first attempt I got an access denied error as soon as it tried to write to the log file - run as administrator appeared to solve that issue.

Seemed to work fine, vista 32, mediaportal 1.0.2, Christchurch DVB-T, hvr-2200.

Nicely done.

I'll see if the installer lets me do it.

Is it possible to provide the complied .exe and dll files without the need to install using a .msi file?

I note it installs to \program files\Geekzone\
You may want to check that freitasm is happy for you to do this.

That's cool. I actually I am installing to test this with Windows 7 64 bit and HDHomeRun now. If all goes well, any objections on posting a blog entry with instructions on how to use it?

I found a fault with EPG Collector when trying to identify the tuners and using a HDHomeRun... Submitted via PM to SJB.

freitasm: Well that didn't get very far did it.

What tuners do you have installed?

Who do you want to do the instruction blog? I'm probably not the right person.

Feel free to steal anything from my website:
http://mentalindustries.orconhosting.net.nz/epg.html

I like the way this project is going so am going to discontinue supprort for my app freeviewNZ-EPG.
I will hand the code over to this project to use any of it. e.g. the "update" notifiction, scheduled task adding and PVR software detection.

Good work guys keep it up!

May want to add the download link to your post on the first page.

I have a HDHomeRun. The log was sent via PM. I can write the instructions myself once I get this working...

The HDHomeRun is a network device isn't it? I seem to remember that PVR applications require additional setup steps when using the HDHomeRun, and something similar will be required here.

Yes, the HDHomeRun is a network-enabled DVB-T. You install its drivers and it's then seen as a local tuner. It follows the Broadcast Driver Architecture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_Driver_Architecture) and works under Windows/Mac OS/Linux.

I didn't have to do anything to have it working with Windows 7 Media Center - it was instantly recognised as a tuner once the driver was installed (in both my laptop and dedicated HTPC).

It should work with EPG Collector as the s/w uses BDA in a standard way, nothing underhand.

I'm looking at the code that discovers the tuner confuguration as we speak.

The network lag maybe causing the issues, as it will respond slower than a local device.

mentalinc: re last nights issue with user read/write access to the exe directory. Do you think it would make more sense to have the default output directory somewhere else. It's a bit non-standard to put the data into the exe directory anyway.
