I've recently upgraded my configuration to a 7.1.4 layout (Denon AVR so using Audyssey to calibrate) and was wondering what 4k movie scenes other people use to check out their systems.

My two go to scenes are the beach landing at the start of Saving Private Ryan and the opening scene in Blade Runner 2049 when Ryan Gosling arrives at the protein farm.

For testing and just for the sheer joy of Atmos at it’s best, I use the first 10 minutes of Unbroken, but It’s only available on Blu-ray as far as I know.

GODZILLA/KONG MONSTERVERSE: 5-Film Collection [$79.98] June 26th

FYI. The JBAU price for this compilation is $30 more than DVD Land at this time. I thought at the time that DVD Land seemed cheap for a 5-Film Collection. Maybe they will adjust it before release.

The Australian release of PURPLE RAIN (1984) has been pushed back to July 10th from June 26th

THE CROW (1994) Standard Edition has been pushed back to September 4th. However, the SteelBook Edition on JBAU website is still displaying July 3rd 🤪

Ordered these two plus Wandavision steelbook from the US a couple weeks ago. If I had known about this new JB initiative, I definitely would have waited and bought locally instead.

I nabbed a great deal with my order, but it was still only marginally better than JB’s pricing and I’d definitely prefer a JB NZ order to avoid importing hassles and potential returns if damaged en route.

I do appreciate JB’s importing of U.S. titles as this provides more buying options.
