If it doesn't come with the dongle, get them to throw it in, if your other one had wifi. Otherwise you could be paying over $100 for the dongle, if it is like the sony one. I think it is handly to have if it is like the sony and has youtube and widgets, quickflix etc

you could also try cost price for dongle if having trouble negotiating, as I'm sure the mark up is huge, so prob a lot cheaper at cost. (Not that you would probably use wifi much)

With that TV, the dongle isn't going to be a particularly important / relevant part of this.
I'm sure a good store will at least find you a cheap dongle as a favour, but the Toshiba won't have had one, so I wouldn't expect it to be thrown in...

mattwnz:
kiwijunglist: Got news on my friend's CGA claim that I helped with:

Sony 40" LCD w. ?2yr warranty from Smith's city on HP
Died @ 2yr 6 mo (Dead panel)
Returned to Smiths City
Smiths City got in touch with manufacturer
Sony are replacing with new 40" LCD TV

Had to mention CGA, but didn't go as far as the Disputes Tribunal

PS. I'm not sure if replacing with equivalent model or not, my friend is a bit clueless and probably wouldn't notice anyway.

I wouldn't have expected anything less. That is less than 1000 days of use. Tvs should last a lot longer, especially sonys which considered a top brand.

Sony's USED to be a premium brand, but now manufacturing out of the same chop-shops as all the rest, but they are still trading on that former premium brand image ..

Your average consumer wouldn't know that. Also they still charge a premium for their products, making them higher value items, which means that they should be higher quality and last longer, under the CGA. If they don't, that is the manufacturers problem to sort out.

Hi guys.

Ended up taking the $600 offered by Toshiba in the end. (they
Bumped it up to $600)

The retailer than let me purchase a tv at cost plus Gst. So
I now have a Panasonic led.
