tchart:Also, for bonus points, did you know you can pair bluetooth headphones to the device and have audio go the the headphones? Im genuinely so impressed with this device.

I have successfully used a Bluetooth headset with it
Yes thats what I was saying, I have too. I was pointing this out as its not really advertised and is awesome if you have low latency bluettoth headphones.
Over the years Ive tried all sorts of way to watch stuff with headphones (so as not to disturb the rest of the family) and this is by far the easiest.
Ive tried heaphones plugged into PS4/Xbox controllers and an AirFly plugged into the TV this just makes it so much simpler!

They look very good especially for the price.
Expert Infotech have now couriered me a replacement power adapter which is a black Samsung - probably the same as robjg63 rec'd. It works fine.
Fired it up today - or at least I tried to.
I used the Samsung USB smart charger (Labelled Adaptive Fast Charging) that Expert Infotech supplied me. It would bring up the splash screen then kept rebooting. I thought maybe it was faulty.
I tried the original google USB charger with the USA power pins (with an plug adapter as a test) and it worked fine.
Tried another identical Samsung USB smart charger I had - endless reboot loop like the Samsung smart charger Expert Infotech gave me. Hmmmm.
The Samsung smart chargers say they are 9.0V at 1.67A or 5.0V at 2.0A
The Google USB supplied - with the USA prongs says 5V at 1.5A 7.5W - so you would have thought the Samsung smart charger should have worked ok.
Found one of these Dynamix-5V-1.5A-Small-Form-Single-USB that I bought from PBtech a year or so ago ($7) and it works fine.
So its up and running. Maybe something funny about Samsung fast charger - they are white BTW.

A USB hub with Ethernet is probably more useful, you can plug in external storage or a keyboard/mouse at the same time if desired. About NZ$70 landed though.

Just pointing out that this is not unique to the Chromecast with Google TV. Have been doing this with a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 for ages and set this up for someone with a SmartVU+ (A7070) just recently.

You might need some expert opinion to determine if it's really a Samsung. On the other hand if it's really adaptive it might have different modes depending on what it thinks the battery is doing. Google TV is not a battery, ...
Will Disney release for GoogleTV eventually or is there something else going on?

Umm the Disney App is available in the Google Play store on Google TV already or is there something else that you are referring to?

Hmm. I had some idea it was not supported on the device itself yet, and only worked for casting. I'm not sure where I got that from. If that's wrong - good, yay! : ).

Definately no issues with it working. Works very well - we use it alot.

Is the NZ Chromecast Google TV release likely to be specific to NZ, or just the Australian model again, and should I care which one?

I don't think it will matter. The AU or AU/NZ version will come with the correct power adapter for NZ and, if you've read through this thread, that's been the issue getting the US model working here in NZ. The only minor issue with buying an AU version will be the pre-loaded apps, but apps are easily un/installed.

Its really just the plug adapter. The Chromecast with Google TV just runs Android TV with a custom launcher that Google has made. Everything is tied into your Google Account. If you have a NZ Google account then apps etc. you will see will be for a NZ stores and others can be sideloaded etc.
