INSIDE OUT 2 is still cashing in, but has slowed down considerably to a current gross of US$1.559 Billion. Disney have stated that the film will run for a full 100 days in cinemas; which means a possible digital release near the end of September.
DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE looks like becoming the second film to pass the US$1 Billion at the worldwide box-office. Currently sitting on over US$903 Million, it should hit the magical mark sometime this coming weekend.
DESPICABLE ME 4 is coming to the end of its run with an excellent return of over US$760 Million; putting it in third place overall for the year.

BORDERLANDS (2024)
Films based on video games rarely do well when adapted to the silver screen, and Borderlands doesn't seem like its going to buck the trend. With a Rotten Tomatoes Critics score of only 9% and an Audience score of 49%; you'd think that Lionsgate would cast the film into the forgotten annals of movie garbage. But nay! Lionsgate are putting their considerable weight behind a 4K physical media release, including TWO 4K SteelBook releases in the US. One is a Walmart Exclusive, the other is an Amazon US Exclusive; one of which we may be getting over here. Let's hope that the film turns out to be one of those "so bad, its good" cult films, like Flash Gordon, which was saved somewhat by its excellent Queen based soundtrack.

Reviews are hitting forums in the US for ALIEN: ROMULUS, and its good news! Reviews are mostly very positive and the consensus is that its the best Alien film since 1986's ALIENS. In NZ cinemas now!
Another Disney/Fox title, so it will be an import when released on 4K disc (or an iTunes/Apple TV app purchase). Either way, it sounds like a goodie.
