Hey,

Anyone using an Xbox 360 as a WMC extender with a card reader setup on the main HTPC?

I just did one for a friend and everything is working great except on the Xbox when watching TV One or TV 3.
Those two channels, which are in HD, stutter and break up all the time like the stream is not coming through over the network fast enough.
Othe HD channels, like TV2 and Sports are fine.
If you watch a recording from TV One or TV 3 it plays back fine.

All channels are fine on the main HTPC.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

What codec's have you installed? I think it is critical when using a xbox as an extender that the MS core codec is being used on live TV.

Also I take it that it is wired connection? I would never try to stream over wireless to a xbox.

Hey, no other codecs installed on the HTPC except AC3filter because I couldn't get the audio working on any HD channels on the HTPC without it.
So don't think this is the issue as it's only TV1 & TV3 that are having the issue and playing back recorded TV from those two channels doesn't have the same issue.
The Xbox is wired to the network.

On a side note, I've used the old Linksys extenders over wireless and they work great (No HD support on those though.)

Hmm the audio issues on the HTPC are odd as it should work out of the box but as you say if it works OK with recorded TV then it should work with live streaming. It certainly does for me. So what happens if you pause live TV for a few seconds. Does it then work OK?

The pause thing is one thing I haven't got them to try yet.
Will get them to do that.

Yea I also thought it was strange that the audio wouldn't work on a clean install of Win7, on the HD channels, as I have built a few similar setups and didn't need the AC3Filter at all.
