Sounds like you may need to Format the drive and start again.
I had this happen some time ago with an early Sony DVD Recorder. One of the files got corrupted somehow ( mains power failure?) and nothing would play. Formatting the drive solved the problem. Although I lost all my files, I had already backed most of them up to DVD.

Everything else plays except the corrupted files. I'd rather not format them as I have 3TB on one and 2TB on the other

You could try unlocker.

Can you plug the MyBook Live in via USB?

Try a hard drive repair program. I'd be surprised if one wasn't included with your my book.  You may  have to hook the drive up via USB or E-SATA rather than using NAS

I have had one for about 2 weeks and (touch wood) it seems to be working well.

You can't connect them via eSATA or USB, they are ethernet only.

Beware formatting the drive without doing research first. They are actually a mini server running (I believe) Debian Linux, and if you format the drive and erase the system files then it may not work at all.

Have you tried asking WD Support or the fairly active WD community forums for a solution?

I have managed to fix the problem.  I tried using unlocker but found out that it doesn't work on Win7 64bit OS so I found another one similar called LockHunter.  Thanks for your help, much appreciated
