So I've been shopping around for a universal remote to control the usual suspects...mySky (HDi) + TV + amp + HTPC. In my travels, I came across this gem http://janderson99.hubpages.com/hub/Using-a-Foxtel-Remote-as-a-Universal-Remote-Controller-Learning-Feature

Basically, it looks like the folk in Oz can use their Foxtel remotes as a Universal remote to control everything. Just punch in a few codes/ "teach" the remote from another one, and you're good to go. So I was just wondering if we can do the same with our mySky remotes?

I tried following the instructions from Foxtel manual but I failed miserably (as expected). I'm assuming that if this works then we should be able to also control our HTPCs using the "learn" function from an MCE remote.

Is this a possibility or am i in lala land?

edit: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Please move if need necessary

I came across the same thing but for the UK remotes, and tried it on mine and nothing happened. There is a does nothing AV button on the sky remotes inplace of whatever button was needed to do the programming on the UK ones.
