I've found that no RCA on the TV works, and on the DVR it plays without the time-delay of SkyTV, but I can't hook up RCA to MySky because those RCA outputs go into a sky box to transmit to another TV in the house. (only by unplugging that could I get the stereo to play Sky).

are there other options? I don't have an HDMI/RCA cord, but have RCA-RCA, RCA-3.5, and one I'm not familiar with (Scart, apparently...whatever that's for).

what're my options? (needs to be RCA on the stereo end (no USB or HDMI there, only the MySky and plasma screen are modern).

would just some sort of hub to split the RCA output to both stereo and additional skybox be the best option? (I thought I should check first if there's an option that doesn't require buying more crap)

Hi, MySky also has spdif both optical and coaxial outputs if you want surround sound on an AVR, but the best thing is to use the scart sockets, get one of the adaptors below and pickup the L&R signals.

does that do something I'm not aware of, or would it be superfluous if I already have this?:

That should work OK.
Just plug the scart into the Sky and the Red and White RCAs into the amp. Leave the Yellow unplugged or plug into the TV.

cool. gave it a go and it's working :) though the sound seems a little low (maybe it's just TV vs Sky settings or something), hoping I can make it so the stereo is on louder than the TV speakers, seems to be the other way around at present.

There are 2 scarts on the mysky - one is fixed volume level, and one is whatever the sky box volume is.
(so you can record to a dvd recorder and not worry about someone having muted the sound on the sky box)

Remember, always run the Sky box at full volume, and use your external output device (TV or stereo) to control the volume.
