Hi guys,

Looking for a cheapy BD player for the bedroom that I can plug an external HDD into. Saw Magness has the Panasonic DMP-BD75GN for $99 which looks like a good deal.

Anything to beware of? My external HDD is a double bay with two drives in it, will this confuse it? All the media is stored in the format optimised for mediabrowser

Movies
Movies\The Matrix (2001)
Movies\The Matrix (2001)\The Matrix (2001).avi

Some of the folders also have a trailer folder a la mediabrowser

Movies\The Matrix (2001)\trailers\trailer.avi

which could potentially be annoying but I can live with that. There are also image and xml files in the folders.

Tv shows set up in a similar way on the other drive

TV Shows\The West wing\Season 1\The west wing s01e01 - Pilot.avi

Looks like it plays mkv and mp4 so that's good. Sound good?

Pretty sure the Panasonic won't work with USB HDD's...
Probably the best bet would be one of the LG models, but they won't be super cheap sorry.

Hmmm Ok cheers. I'll be watching stored content most of the time, doubt Ill actually use the BD part much so perhaps I should just get the Western Digital media player

Noel Leeming are doing it for the same price of $99

Computer Lounge list the full specs which say it will do multiple external HDDs via its multiple usb ports but do you think there will be any issues with a double disk drive into one USB port??
