OK. I want to set up a PVR, hopefully in the right place!

I have the following:-
1 x Telstraclear digital set top box - working with a TV
1 x PC P4 with Ubuntu installed (I have a WinXP Home licence for it too)
1 x WinTV-PVR 150 NB: The IRBlaster has gone for a walk
1 x 5.1 channel sound card
1 x 3.5mm to RCA audio
1 x S-Video cable
1 x RF lead
I also have a freeview T STB but the reception is crap here and I can't get a signal.Frown

Is there a guide out there somewhere to set all this up easily?  Note: I know very little about Linux and I am struggling a bit with it though am willing to learn.

So far I have figured out that I can set the STB to switch the channel to record.
I assume that I also need some sort of EPG and recording management on the PC so that I can set a timer to switch on and record the feed from the STB.

Any ideas and help would be much appreciated.

Ta
