Wife has an old Dell net book still runs pretty well and she no longer uses it. Was thinking of taking it and using it as an HTC simply for music playback. Only issue is it has vga. Usb and headphone jack as it's only connection points. What are my options for something decent as a connection to a Denon 3310 for flac play back?

There's plenty of options out there... years ago I got a turtle beach which had SPDIF output, it was about $50.  But there are cheaper options out there, eg.

Keep in mind if you're using SPDIF or otherwise digital out to your Denon amp (assuming it has those inputs), there's no degradation of quality.

Look for "USB Sound Card"
