Hey guys.

Was reading an old post on Geekzone from 06, and in a post a guy mentioned that somebody from Texas, bought his Verizon box over with him and he hooked it up and he was able to make calls, and watch live TV as he could in the USA.

This has got my thinking, if I could buy the right set top box from Ebay, or Amazon (They are dirt cheap) sign up, and use a fake USA address, or sign up for a virtual address, and possibly a USA VPN. Would this be able to work, as we have the Unlimited plan from Slingshot, so I don't have to worry about data limits.

So would this be able to work, and has anybody had success doing a similar project?

Also, what provider would work?

Why not just use hulu over unblock-us? This can be done simply with a ps3 or a roku box. Unless ip tv is something different in the states? Never used it. is it paytv? hulu has most of the free to air US shows.

Yeah Hulu is something I would consider. However, I have always preferred having the live channels, as I enjoy watching live shows, and if I used Hulu I might as well just download the episode via torrent. However yes, for Episodes, Hulu would work.

hulu and netflix can be made to work fine (see other threads on geekzone for how to do so, or just go to www.unblock-us.com) , but i doubt an IPTV service would work since you generally require a broadband connection in the states to use one and it would be tied to that connection and IP address.

I think only Hulu+ will work on the PS3 since there is an app for it. Regular Hulu probably won't work since that requires Flash in the browser and I don't think the PS3 browser supports Flash.
