Hello guys, anyone had any experience with this model? Saw it on JBHiFi website - shame Christchurch doesn't have a brick-n-mortar store... Priced at $198 and looks good...

The BDX3200KY model has "multi" feature! ;-)

Well no one seem to know about this and I bit the bullet and got this. It has arrived today and included is a firmware upgrade disc with instruction on how to enable multi-zone for DVD and how to switch multi-region for BD, so far the only one that can do both these on a 3D BD player.

Does it perform relatively well? I may replace my old (and SLOW!) region-free Memorex if it's quicker...

Hasn't power up yet but most of the are pretty decent speed these days, even my VEON from The Warehouse which is a year or so old is pretty good.

I got one a few months back from JB for $178 - it included a couple of free 3D blu-ray titles and a 1.5m HDMI cable too... FANTASTIC deal eh?

So far it's been really great! Plays blu-rays and DVD's from all regions without any trouble although you do need to switch blu-rays regions every time you want to watch zone A vs B or C discs as there's no "region free" option... this procedure is quick and simple to carry out though, no dramas whatsoever.

I had a memorex one before ($69 from firstin.co.nz about 15 months ago) but it went kaput on me after about 6 months... was horribly slow and noisy when it worked plus tricky to change regions so no great loss...

Brilliant to be able to buy movies from US, UK or wherever at sometimes great prices and be able to enjoy them without any hassle!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PURCHASE!! :)

Speed is fast. Faster than VEON Bd player we have, and looking at the system/setup menu, I think it is a variant of firmware/OS uses by Soniq/VEON. Nice buy for sure!

Behodar: Bit the bullet!

Well done. Other regions of same model don't include the firmware upgrade disc. Only the -KY (Australia) model has.

I actually didn't get the firmware disc in the box but I downloaded it here. Handy to keep this link in case the disc doesn't work, gets lost etc...

Firmware upgrade completed and confirmed DVD is multi-zoned (0) and BD is set to region-A now. Yes!

Shame we don't have 3D TV to try out.

Good job! Pretty easy ay?

Works perfectly - I've got a Samsung PS50C7000 and have played zone A and B 3D titles without a hitch :)

It has exact same setup for changing the One/region as VEON and Soniq. Nice :-)

Do any of you have Game of Thrones? When I put disk 1 in, the player crashes. Disk 2 works and I haven't tried the others.

Edit: Why didn't I try Google first?
This is has been an excellent player.. until i tried the "Game of Thrones" Blu-Ray Season 1 disk set. It just locks the machine up before loading the main page. Now i'm not one to give up easily (i considered updating the firmware but didn't want to lose my multi region options) i have finally discovered that by inserting a 4gb USB stick, with absolutely no data on it, that it will load the Disk 1 from where you can navigate to any episode on the 5 disk set.

No I don't have it but this is among the randomest faults and solutions that I've ever heard of... How on EARTH did he discover the blank USB fix?!!?!

P.S - which zone is your GOT set and is it season 1 or 2?

It's an NZ copy of S1. After reading "it will load the Disk 1 from where you can navigate to any episode on the 5 disk set" I wondered whether I could just "boot" from disk 2 and then select to play an episode from disk 1... but now disk 2 won't start either!

I thought that I'd had disk 1 working before, so now I'm wondering whether it only works once per disk. I've turned off "Last Memory" in the settings (remembers the previous playback position) in case that would help but it doesn't.
