Hey

I was wondering if it is possible to use the coax cable currently connected to my Sky decoder, and using a RF modulator be able to display the HTPC on multiple TVs (similar to how sky does it). Also if it is possible wheres the best place to buy a RF modulator?

Jaycar sell them, but composite out from a PC is usually pretty hard to get reliably mirroring the HDMI output, assuming you have a card that even has it. May have to trawl trademe for something good enough, yet old enough to have a composite out.

Otherwise if you are using VGA to the TV then there are countless VGA to composite adapters around that have a VGA passthru as well.

Yes, you can.

However, unless you have to, don't!

Running the PC's output through an RF Modulator and sending over coax to TV tuners will give about the crappiest picture possible.

What outputs does the PC have? What inputs to the TVs have?

If it's a relatively modern HTPC it should have HDMI output. If it does and they TVs have HDMI inputs, and you can run cable, get an HDMI splitter. the result will be vastly better. If the TVs are older and don't have HDMI inputs, look at an HDMI to component (best) or an HDMI to composite (second best) converter. Only if none of these is feasible should you even consider using an RF modulator.

The main reason why I want to send it over the coax is so that I can watch Internet tv streams on different TVs without having to buy a separate pc for each one. I was planning on using a Raspberry Pi to do this streaming.

I would prefer to use another method but sending it over coax seemed like the easiest option :S
