Hey guys!

So I have just received my NUC and am setting it up right now. Windows 7 installed, drivers next followed by software and xbmc.

I have been looking for MCE remotes I can buy for xbmc. I can't seem to find any good ones anywhere in NZ. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I know amazon is an option, but i want to stay within NZ to buy this remote. :P I don't really wanna import just a remote if its avaliable right here in nz.

I have never really set up a remote for xbmc, so something out of the box plz??

Cheers guys

Your always a great help

I had to send mine back (and I don't think it's considered an "MCE" remote), but the Motorola NYXboard is pretty good. My issue was that it didn't work on resume and the dongle had to be reinserted. That said, it gets a lot of positive reviews, so most people don't have that problem. It uses basic RF for communication, so no line of sight and awesome distance. It's also got a keyboard underneath.

If you have an android device, I would use the Yatse app. My kids use a xbox 360 controller.

I got my motorola from http://nicegear.co.nz/htpc/motorola-htpc-remote/ nice people.

IMHO it's hard to beat the original Microsoft MCE remote. You struggle to find one in NZ but looking online you can get a newer style (non MS) black ones for ~NZ$20 incl shipping.

www.tbsdtv.com sell MCE remotes, think they're the HP ones; about $15 USD.

I still have an original MCE keybaord and a MCE compatible remote that I was trying to sell in this listing sitting at home.  I had the original MCE remote, which was great, found this one just as good and a great size as well.

Why do you only want to buy something from NZ? These sell for US$20 incl shipping to NZ.

Might I recommend having a look at a flirc? There is an AU distributor and it took about a week for a couple to arrive for me to have a play with.

Flirc learns any remote control, not caring about different vendor protocols. Just walk through our super simple setup pairing individual remote buttons with 'Media Center Buttons' and you're done. /quote

I bought an HP MCE remote from ebay for about $15 shipping. Works fine.

Yes they're preconfigured on the HP. Anything from China/Hong Kong takes a few weeks to arrive.

Get the Motorola one. It's more expensive but looks to be the king of XBMC remotes. I have my harmony remote mostly working for basic functions, but it took a bit of thought and experimentation.

Yep, the flip sensor is quite sensitive and when the key board is active it blanks out most of the screen personally I don’t use the keyboard much anyway.
PBTech have the Hauppauge UPC0335 Media Center Certified Remote Control Kit, with IR transmitter to control a TV set top box & Xbox 360 $40 not pretty but the IR transmitter will work with a Logitech Harmony remote if you need pretty.
