I'm starting to think about upgrading my old mac.
I'm thinking about a mac mini, partly because we no longer have broadcast tv and most of our entertainment revolves around the computer.

My wife and daughter like to watch various soapies and stuff on tv-on-demand.
Unfortunately I found that they will not play on an iPad with an HDMI output to a tv due to DR restrictions.

Now, if I were to purchase a mac mini my intention was to connect it to a good-sized LED tv.

What would be the best connection method?
If HDMI was used, would it be blocked like the iPad is?
