I thought this brand were advertised as a new premium warehouse brand to replace the old transonic brand. Interesting that the refund is with or without a receipt, because they are regularly 50% off, so the buyer could say they paid the full price for it, especially if they are not sure of the price they paid.

They were indeed launched as the new 'premium' units... I think the press-release was posted on this very site?
However, with Sony / Samsung AV kit heading into the Warehouse (Sony are already there to some degree), I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop the line all together. I did hear a staff member down selling a customer from a Sony BluRay player to a Veon today, she commented that 'her Veon DVD player was all anyone really needed, so you (he) may as well get that'.
And he did.
