I've spent a few evenings now trying to figure out how to set up EPG Centre to import Christchurch City DVB-T listings into WMC on Windows 8 but still no luck.

I feel like I'm missing one basic step somewhere as the program sees my tv tuner card but isn't able to get a signal to download the listings. The main error which repeats in the log file is "Signal not locked and signal quality not >0".

I'm using 578 MHz for MHEG5 listings and at this stage just trying to output an .xml file to the desktop - I have also tried 562 and 594 MHz.

Here's the log file.

Am I missing something obvious here?

I think I set it up correctly although although a new how-to guide would be great if anyone has time, there used to be an EPG Collector quick-start guide around here by Freitasm but it seems link the link is now broken. I was using GuideHound but as of earlier this year the link at nzepg.org/freeview/xml.gz has gone - if anyone knows of a new one I'd be keen to just go back to using Guidehound.

Below is the contents of my config file - I haven't touched this myself. I did the setup using the EPG Collector GUI:
[GENERAL]
Output=C:\Users\Oliver\Desktop\TVGuide.xml
Timeouts=10,300,5,1,50
Option=USESAFEDISEQC,DUPLICATESAMECHANNELS

[DVBT]
TuningFile=New Zealand.Christchurch - Sugarloaf (After August 2012).xml
ScanningFrequency=578000,8,MHEG5

I can't see anything obviously wrong in the log and tuning problems seem to be pretty rare these days.

Try unticking the diseqc option in tuning options. That's for satellite only and shouldn't make any difference but you never know.

If that doesn't work try running as Administrator instead of User.

And if that doesn't work put BDA in the Trace box on the Diagnostics tab, run it again and post the log.

Awesome, suddenly it's working great. Unchecked the diseqc option and it worked straight away. Funny though as I had only just ticked that prior to posting on here and had tried to run it plenty of times without it checked in the past. The only other things I changed since yesterday were installing Windows Updates and a restart of the PC.
Anyway thanks for the help and the program works great! I've got it set to run as a scheduled task so the wife should be happy.

What receiver are you using? An HDHomeRun or a video card?
