Tried using the reference drivers from ATI, instead of the ones that come with the card?

Def use the latest drivers - the CDs supplied with cards are generally "old" in the scheme of things :)

OK More details.
Have checked the AMD site and used their checker whcih reports I am using latest drivers.
The PC has a Proc AMD A10 -5800K Radeon on board which does not have HDMI out. I an using the Saphire HD7750 card which does have HDMI card but cannot see any way of disabling the on board graphics/sound. Not sure if that would upset the sound the video seems fine.
Any suggestions?

Open Control Panel | Sounds and see if the output device is correctly selected.
