Hi there would like to know if the Raspberry Pi is able to play NZ on Demand....Have seen reference made that it works but would like to know how?

Do you use a web browser like your PC......or is there something in the XBMC..?

Nope. Last I saw the NZ Ondeman plugin in XBMC wasn't working for tv1, 2 or tv3.

No sign of any decent channels on the NZ addon for the Pi but we live in hope.....

I am very impressed with the Raspberry Pi and the ability to do Airplay and integrate with the TV remote but performance can be a major issue. I use Openelec for XBMC with a lightweight skin (Quartz) and I find it more responsive than others and handles the add-ons adequately but the NZOnDemand add-on is limited as mentioned above.

Other distros, especially if trying to use Linux GUI with a browser where CPU easily gets driven to 100%, seem too crippled to use for TV viewing on the Pi.

If TV1,2,3 on demand is a requirement it seems to me that a more powerful XBMC solution that could perhaps drive a browser may be needed (but I don't even know if it would work). The lack of TVNZ on Demand support across the Smart TV app range (all except Samsung?) is disappointing and I had hoped the Pi would bridge the gap but not yet.

Thanks for the reply....I guess its back to the drawing board...the On Demand is hi on my list to solve as my wife would use it alot with having a family....Thanks again...Crewe.
