Hey guys

Does anybody know of any Blu-Ray players currently being sold in NZ that has a Netflix app? I have unblock-us and a Netflix account and have it happily running on a PS3 and Apple TV, but I have one room where we currently have a Blu-Ray player which can download apps but Netflix is not one of them, so I'd like to replace it with one that has it. DLNA is also a bit of a must-have. I saw a thread about the Sony BDPS390 but that seems to have gone end-of-life now.

Cheers

Steve

I have BDS390 and it works very well. Not sure about the DLNA part but if it's in the spec, then it should work.

They maybe end of life but I did see them in the closeout section at JB HiFi in Wellington for $98.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Oh really? Damn, that's annoying. They're not on their website any more and I'm in Chch (no branches of JB HiFi here for some reason).

Anyone tried the Sony BDP-S1100? http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/tv-lcd-led-plasma/media-players/blu-ray-player/

The US Sony site lists this as having Netflix... wonder if its like the BDS390 and can be accessed via unblock-us or whether it has different firmware. Wish there was a way to tell without ordering it.

I was quite surprised when my BDP390 showed up Netflix when I powered it up. So it's possible the 1100 might also.

If you can find one powered up and connected to a TV in a JB store, there is a way to check without buying it.
