If you have a PS3  and want to try HuluPlus, go to huluplus.com/ps3offer for a 2 month trial. You will need to enter a credit card number. I just used my Visa Debit and it worked fine. For your postcode, use your existing NZ one and either put a 1 at the start of it or 0 at the end. To check if matches a valid US postcode, go to this website to check
https://tools.usps.com/go/ZipLookupAction!input.action?mode=2

Once you are sorted, HuluPlus will take you to a page to activate your device. If you haven't already, then set up a US account on your PS3 and download the HuluPlus app from the Store.  You will probably have to do an update of around 30mb.  Once installed, click Log In and an activation code will appear on screen, enter that on your computer and you are good to go.

Enjoy.

Good service, but you do end up having to watch a surprising amount of advertising still. Having the freedom to watch such a variety of shows is worthwhile though.

Won't you still need a VPN'd router or unblock-US DNS servers?

the advertising just makes me not want this product. especially since all the ads are for US products I cant even buy.

Netflix is orders of magnitude better value IMO.

sure but hulu is offering different content, new content (and sure a bunch of old stuff you can compare it to netflix there).  but the main reason to use hulu is for the new episodes.

I would recommend choosing an zipcode in oregon, they have no sales tax there so if you do sign up and continue using it, you'll save around $2usd a month :)

The advertising on Hulu Plus has never really bothered me. Its rarely over 30-45 seconds anyway. (The free service has a substantial amount of ads)

I agree the content on Netflix is much better. But it never features the latest content.

The ads don't bother me either, to be honest. If no ads, then the cost would be more.  And they aren't too long and some of them are interesting.
