Hi guys,

We are building a relatively small house and will have a fairly small square shaped room. I know already which way the tv etc is going to face with the ability to flip it 180 degrees.

My question is with regards to speakers. I want to run cables through the ceiling and then have some wall outlets in the ceiling and back wall to plug in the surround speakers. Are surround left and surround back speakers ok to be mounted at ceiling height (standard ceiling height)?

Thanks

I have some at ceiling height, and it's OK.

Some receivers have an option to specify the height (as opposed to the distance to listener) of the speakers (not sure what this does though!)

It changes audio delays generally.

Depends what the speakers are and what you want them to be used for to some extent, but generally speaking they will be fine as long as they're a foot or so from the actual ceiling, if they're too close then you get issues.
