It is time for me to buy a new TV as in our new lounge 26 inch is just too small. Given that I already have an Apple TV box and a Now TV box (for BBC iplayer) connected to my TV do I need a smart wi fi TV?

What do smart TVs have on them that I can't get via my boxes? I ca see why it is neater having it built in but my Apple TV is essential for Airplay, and I have the other box because iplayer is much better quality via this box than via Ipad.

What do you use it for that I can't get on my boxes. If the answer is nothing then I assume I can get a non smart TV cheaper than a wi fi one?

Cheers

Looks like some of the local content is most llikely the main benefit of a smart tv. Quickflix, TVNZ Ondemand etc are on some smart tvs, but not any other device (roku, apple tv etc).
