Call me pedantic, but Im trying to find a way to make my speaker grills sit flush with the speaker.

Ive tried an elastic band, also tried some cellotape around the plastic dowels but to no avail.

Does anyone have any ideas / suggestions that would fix it? Thanks

I think you'll find they're not meant to sit flush on those ones.

The centre & surrounds fit fine, why wouldnt the floor standers?

Nope, the other speaker is very similar. I cant see why it would be designed and manufactured if it wouldnt fit properly.

Hmmm, quite annoying

At a guess you have Wharfedale Diamond 10's up front? With Diamond 9 centre + rears?
Am I correct?

Fair enough, yeah Wharfedale Diamond 9's + 10's don't really have design synergy through out all of the main speakers... the new Diamond range does, but that doesn't help.
Personally, I'd go without grills if it really does bother you... I just don't think there's a fix aside from completely modding the grills.

Ah thanks for that.

Nah I couldnt leave the grills off, dont think they look that great without them, ie bit distracting.

Looks like I'll have to stop being so fussy.

Now back to getting a tv stand / unit as the coffee table isnt cutting it anymore.

that's just crappy manufacturing.

i've seen 9.6,9.5,9.1 all with flush fitting grilles.

either modify the pins/shorten them or listen with the grilles off - they sound better.

Are you sure there's nothing blocking the holes that the plastic pins go in. I've had to replace the grills on my 9.5s and 9.0s after they were damaged. The new grills all go flush although some were a bit tight.

Thanks for the replies.

Although, now knowing that they can be flush has got me thinking again.

I can't see anything blocking the pins, so I'm trying to work out why (how) after pushing the pin in, does it push it back out.

I'll try a couple of things tomorrow.
