Hi there,

I had a simple $10 dock off trademe to charge and use as a line out for my iphone 4. I have since upgraded to an iphone 5 so the connector is the wrong size in the dock.

I've had a look at similar docks on trademe but they all seem to have the headphone 3.5mm plug as well. I'd rather not use this as I'd like to bypass the iphones headphone amp and use the stereo amp. Is there a way I can do this to get a proper line out? Or even a lightning to rca type cable I could use?

The recently announced iPhone 5 dock has a line out:

http://store.apple.com/nz/product/MF030ZM/A/iphone-5s-dock?fnode=45

I bought my dock cable from soundessentials.co.nz but a quick check of their site shows that they haven't (yet) got lightning port versions which might just leave me with an annoying problem if I decide to upgrade my 4S to a 5S.

I really wish they would add a digital line out too so that I can use it with my portable DAC/headphone amp.
