Anyone seen or used these Bluesen TVs before? If so what are your thoughts on them? Specifically around Gaming (360) and BluRay/HD feeds as well as AppleTV?

Why not stick to the top manufacturers. I don't now anything about that brand and never heard of it, and it is possibly just a rebadge to make it a house brand. It is possibly on ok tv.
However in general from what I have read when researching electronics, is no name brands can use panels of lower quality, or ones that were rejected due to flaws eg dead pixels. Or they could be using older generation panels. Always do your research and look for lots of positive reviews, as there is often a reason why they are cheaper. Also retailers make better margins on house brands.

They are good value, but 'off brand'.

I have seen them going, and there is nothing wrong with the picture. I'd have one as a second or bedroom TV.

Most retailers have a house brand - Warehouse has Veon, Harveys has Konka. JB also has Soniq.

It's cheap, the rest is a gamble you take as a consumer.
I wouldn't buy one, but I prefer to buy once, buy right... personally.

We're looking at the 32" version for the kids room to plug the Xbox into - gives back some space once wall mounted and if someone throws something at it, Im not kissing goodbye $500+.....

I like how the picture of the tv shows "48cm" but the website says "48"".

Checkout the picture quality. It wont have any great smart features, but if you dont care about that or 3d, then price is good, and aslong as picture quality is good, I'd buy it. If it only lasts a year or 2, just buy another at a lower price (tvs keep coming down in price).

Thx all. Yeah not massively in the market for one but would like a bigger lounge TV as our current 32" Samsung is only 720p so would like something in the 42" range and 1080p to boot. Wouldn't normally touch a none brand but the price intrigued me.

When buying on price alone, the old saying 'you get what you paid for' comes to mind. You can often get at least 20% of top brands anyway, and cash can be king I have found.

If it was a cheap 22" for a bedroom, I'd understand... but a 48" has a lot of screen to show up potential issues IMHO. It would be VERY MUCH an image dependent purchase.

If you can direct me to a quality-branded 50" Full HD LED TV for $999, I'd be keen.

As to the OPs question, Bluesen and Veon both seem to be fine in terms of picture quality, and not bad on features either. Build quality feels a bit cheap, but then, they are cheap. Seem to work fine if you're not fussed on bells & whistles like 3D and Smart features.

Ah-ha, Panasonic, ok thanks. Will wait for Sony, Samsung or LG ones at that price :)

have been looking for a 32" to use as a monitor for ages now - had hoped to get a name brand 32" - but finding one with my required feature set ie. full hd, vga in, coax out, led backlit - is difficult and north of $600

ended up buying a veon 39" tv 2 weeks ago - met all of my criteria and for $449 - it does the job and i more than happy from a bang for buck point of view

would i get one as a primary set, probably not, but for for a 2nd/3rd set - yeah why not

After seeing those cheap panny plasmas I would take a budget 50hz lcd over them any day. Flicker to hell and look like a snowey old analog signal with all the dither on them.

Not familiar with this brand, but have seen a couple of the bigger veons in use at friends places and there is nothing _wrong_ with the picture, other than being 50Hz so looking horrid in every panning or similar scene.

Since you have to disable all the nice features to get the latency down for gaming, there is no point getting a tv with them on it for gaming, so the budget veons etc have a place for that.

LED LCDs and plasmas are very different technologies.

The cheap entry level 50" plasma models from all brands are bad. The only reason they exist is because retailers demand them. They shouldn't be used to assume picture quality of the same brands' LCDs and higher end plasmas.

Panasonic has the highest build quality of any major television brand unlike Samsung which has consistently had the highest failure rate.

Cheap house brand LCDs are either repackaged Chinese minor brand televisions or contain rebadged Korean brands' low end parts. I would never buy them.

I had a quick look at this brand today, in my opinion, the picture to me wasn't that great on a couple of sets. This could be due to not being set up correctly, but personally I wouldn't touch one. There are better brands out there.
