OK, I posted a week ago about my AV transmitter playing up - turns out they were faulty. I borrowed a pair of these from a friend (http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/463a678d010bf5a2273fc0a87f3306d5/Product/View/L5963) and they work ok: The picture is crystal clear but I'm getting a single line of interference from my router and it gets bigger when my download rate goes up. The problem is solved by turning off my Wireless router - which fails the entire purpose of having a TV in my home office connected with an AV transmitter to SKY. I've tried to change channels on the router (CH 1 to 11) and on the AV transmitters (CH 1 to 3) but it didn't solve it.

Question: If I opt for a 5.8ghz system, will it interfere with my 5.8 phones?

I have a combination of DECT and 5.8 phones at the moment.

Don't know about the 5.8Ghz phones but interferences on the phones is less of a hassle than interference on the wireless Internet. I had strange problems with my 802.11g network until I realised it was both the video sender and cordless phones. Now I have two machines connected over 802.11a (5GHz) which are immune to most other transmissions and as fast a 802.11g

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Mine is a super-illegal 1.2GHz but it's so low powered anyway it does not worry me.

Perfect recption and no interfereance at all.

Super illegal eh? I have a few 1 watt ebay cameras left, working fine for years and not had a visit at all so I'm guessing that they are fine.
