I just noticed that there seems to be a different version of The Hobbit available on blu-ray here in NZ than the ones for sale in the UK and US. This one seems to include a DVD copy of the film instead of a blu-ray 3D one. It seems quite attractive as a gift for someone in the UK who doesn't have a blu-ray player yet. Any idea why the different version for this market? Also, although NZ and UK are the same blu-ray region, they are different DVD regions so I wonder if that would cause a problem. Do you think the DVD copy will be on physically different discs--I suppose it must be. Obviously the significant higher price in NZ is likely to be an factor in a purchasing decision!
