Hi I have a Philips DVDR3360H which i bought in 2006 and I have a lot of video's that i want to put on to DVD and I can copy them to the disc but I can't finalize them would it be possible to buy another Philips DVD recorder and swap the hard drives so as my existing drive would work in another player, as you can buy them fairly cheap as no one wants them now because TV has gone digital now here.
Before you start slagging off the Philips its been a brilliant machine and was used just to record off our Sony camcorder which also needs updating but that's another story.

My Philips DVDR (can't remember the model) has similar behavior, but what I think is happening is that it fails to notify when the content being written to the DVD is too big and it has run out of space.  Took a while to work out what was happening, cos the content didn't seem to be big enough to fill a DVD, but then I split it into 2 and wrote it to 2 DVD's ok.
Dunno if that is your issue tho.

I finally tried a different DVD-R TDK disc and its all good now, I was using some cheap disc's from trademe they work OK on everything else ie writing ISO etc. But didn't like Philips.
