Greetings all

I have recently connected my netbook [Acer Aspire ONE D255E] to my Panasonic Viera TV [TH-L39EV6Z] via a 'VGA to HDMI converter with Audio'. [Van Cryst].

Screen resolution of 1024 x 600 is fine but I would like to make use of the whole screen.

I change the 'multiple display drop down to 'Show desktop only on 2'  Now I can change the resolution to  the recommended 1280x 720.  Much clearer but the desktop is off centre and I cannot see the 'Start' button in the taskbar and there is a black empty space on the right side of the screen (black).  The cursor cannot go beyond the desktop into the black empty space.  There is no setting on the TV to adjust the horizontal of the picture.

Question 1
Can I adjust the horizontal picture from my netbook?

Now I change the screen resolution to 1920 x 1080.  It fits perfectly and centred, and the display is crisp.  Unfortunately the text is too small and I find it hard to read.  Apparently MS Windows 7 Starter does not allow me to make the text larger. Even regedit could not change the size of the font.

Question 2
How can I make the text larger?

Thanks for your time. :-)

Found a solution.  I found a free Windows 7 upgrade through youtube.  Now I can adjust text size and Win7 wallpapers (but I first had to uninstall third party background changer software)  So now I get 1080 from my wee netbook through the VGA to HDMI converter :-)

There are tiny buttons on the VGA to HDMI converter that can adjust position of desktop screen on tv.  Also since then after an update my netbook didn't have the option to change resolution to 1080.  I had to change settings in 'Graphic Options'.  There you go I solved my own problems lol
