I recently brought a Panasonic Home Theater System SC-BTT880, I have been trying to get info on how to convert 2D images to 3D images for viewing on my Samsung 3D TV, but so far I have been unsuccessful. Is there a simple way I can plug my 2D dvd and convert it into 3D output.

Also is it possible if I run my sky connection through this bluray player, can I convert the sky content in 3D as well.

thanks

Have you read the manual?
No doubt it will tell you how. According to the online brochures it will do 2D to 3D conversion so must be a setting in the Menu somewhere.
Doesn't your 3D TV have a 2D to 3D conversion mode? My Sony TV has a selection in the menu for simulated 3D which works OK for all inputs. Nothing like as good as real 3D input though.

It's normally a setting on your TV not the home theatre system. Check your Tv remote for a button that has the 3d box on it, press that and it should give you a list of options or scroll through these options. Asgard as I'm aware the tv does the conversion not the home theatre.
We have a samsung 3d TV and a panasonic btt790 and that's how I've done it in the past..... Although in my experience watching in 2d is better than up scaling 2d to 3d.

Thanks for the post, I couldn't find a selection on remote which shows how to convert 2D into 3D, I will again have a look, maybe there is something too technical for me to grasp. Unfortunately my TV doesn't have a 2D to 3D conversion, it's a normal 3D TV, probably this is the reason it doesn't convert 2D to 3D

It won't be on the remote. It will be somewhere in the setup menu.
My Sony TV is a standard 3D model but has settings in the menu to select type of 3D i.e. 2D, side by side, under/over and simulated 3D (2D-3D). You need to search for the settings in your menus.

Thanks, I have 3D button on my TV and when I press that it shows the type of 3D ie side by side and under/over. It never shows a simulated 3D (2D-3D). Maybe that is the reason I cannot see the conversion from 2D to 3D.

Perhaps the tv doesn't support conversion then, on my samsung 3D TV it has a 2-3D conversion option next to the under/over and side by side when pressing the 3D button on the remote. Mine is a 5 series TV if that helps, is yours a lower series TV? Google the model number to see if it supports 2D conversion.
