I have a Panasonic TH-P42X30Z TV. Reading posts in regards to this TV, I'm aware that its a 'junk' TV and for some not worth considering but I need help to find a remote that will work on it. Without giving too much criticism can someone please point me in the direction as to where to find one, thanks

Your best bet might be one of those cheap universal remotes. Some have lists of supported TV's on the back of the package.

Another vote for a universal remote.

When Dexter the Wonder Beagle decided that our HDD/DVD recorder remote would make excellent lunch one day, we replaced it with a Logitech Harmony 650 universal remote. It controls our 2013 model Panasonic Plasma with no issues, and it also fully supported the 6 year old Panny plasma which it replaced. It has been a revelation in unifying control of all our AV equipment.
