Hi,

I'm considering getting a Fiio E6 Portable Headphone Amp ($50 from Sound Essentials) to use primarily with my Galaxy Tab 3 Tablet.

Does anyone have any experience with these or know of any other unit that will be the same or better?

I've had the E6, in its price bracket not bad at all (up to $50 you're pretty hard pressed to find many alternatives).

For something like this you'll probably find you get more responses if you pose the question in the headphones thread :)

What headphone are you planning to use it with?

Currently I've got SennHeiser CX150 IEMs but may upgrade those too, thou I am very happy with the sound from them - just that my tablet volume doesn't go very high...

So looking for something to increase the volume primarily...

i got the fiio E11 (kilimanjaro) 2 years or so ago for the same reason

run either off my galaxy tab or s5 using a pair of audio technica ath-m35s for my daily commute on the ferry

does what it says on the tin ie. louder and i believe much better sounding too + bass and gain boost as well

bang for back i am WELL stoked with both

If you're a tinkerer and only using IEMs there are probably root solutions that will allow significantly increased HP out volume (most devices internal amps are throttled according to EU volume limitations). I've used them before on my Samsung phones to good effect.

I'd be interested if you could point me in the right direction about this. And also, why IEM only?
