Not sure if this is the right thread to be posting this but i have had my pCI DVB-S card working perfectly this week, for no apparent reason it will now not function in my machine. i have swapped PCI slots and still no joy. I have tried it in another machine and it functions fine. for some reason it will not work in my machine but all other PCI cards work perfectly. Has anyone else had this problem? Its VERy frustrating and there must be a way to fix it.
What software are you using? What soft of card is it? What OS etc, etc etc, So basically the card is working as in it is detected and the drivers are installed the system is showing that it is working ok but you receive no channels?
well i was using mediaportal under vista and everything was working pefectly fine. the twinhan pci card stopped working and i couldnt figure out why as i hadnt changed anything and i also though it could only have been a software issue. i put the pci card into an xp machine and used the software that came with the card ansd it worked fine (although it would only pick up some of the freeview channels). after much frustration and reloading of mediaportal and complete removal of drivers on the vista machine i ended up formatting it as i saw this being a sure way to resolve the issue. onle loading xp instead of vista as the drivers were xp signed i setup mediaportal again and to my dismay the card will still not work in this machine. i swapped it to another pci slot and still no joy, it will however work in the other machine. i went into the bios and reset all the onboard pci controls and rebooted and still nothing its almost as though the card started hating this board for some reason :D
so anyways after repeatedly scanning over and over and over again it last night magically started working again so my problem is hopefully over. however i cannot get the EPG listing to work like i did in vista. any suggestions?
p.s i think there is a gremlin in my pci card that doesnt like ASUS motherboards
Hmm still sounds like a software problem. Again. When you say the PCI card is "not working" do you mean that it won't find any channels when scanning or do you mean that in xp/vista it doesn't detect the device or does detect the device but will not start the device??
